Our Long Pour: “The Panic Button”

Remember the “easy” button?

That was for more innocent times. Things ain’t easy anymore, are they? Nosir. You need a drink suited to what all the commercials agree are These Uncertain Times… something dark, brooding, bitter, sour, and with a decidedly anesthetizing effect. A gravity blanket of a drink.

Friend, we have you covered. Presenting “The Panic Button.” A hefty slug of bourbon with not one but two bitter Italian liqueurs, cherry brandy (let’s call that a cheeky illusion to the cheery easy button) and lemon juice. And protruding from the middle of it? A big, totally clear, glasslike orb of ice.

Ironically, The Panic Button might be the only easy thing about your day. It comes together easy, and goes down easy.

The Panic Button
